This privacy policy explains how Anidex collects, uses, and stores information when you use the Anidex mobile app and related services.

Information We Collect

Anidex may collect account information such as your email address, display name, password hash if you register with email and password, and Apple Sign-In identifier if you sign in with Apple. Anidex may also collect wildlife sighting information you choose to save, including animal identifiers, sighting time, location coordinates, notes, and optional photos.

The app also uses your device location, with your permission, to show animals likely to be near you and to help record sightings. Some app data is stored locally on your device for offline use.

How We Use Information

We use this information to provide the app's core features: account access, Apple Sign-In, nearby animal discovery, sighting records, photo uploads, and syncing your sightings across devices.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may use service providers to host the Anidex backend and deliver app functionality. Information may be disclosed if required by law or to protect the security and integrity of the service.

Data Retention and Deletion

Account and synced sighting data are retained while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app, which removes your account, synced sightings, and uploaded sighting photos from the Anidex backend. Security

Anidex uses standard HTTPS connections for communication with the backend. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect user information.

Children

Anidex is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
